learning for photographers and creatives

I love to share what I know about photography and creativity.  I offer mentor sessions to allow me to work with other photographers to teach them and guide them.  Each mentor session is custom designed to meet the needs of the individuals.

My favorite way to teach is a full day six hour in person session.   $1200

Each full day session can include:

• portfolio/website review before the session;
• questionnaire before the session to make sure I answer all your questions and customize the session for you whether you are interested in weddings, families, boudoir, or lifestyle photography;
• homework before the session;
• photography shoot (where you can watch me work and ask questions throughout);
• sit down and talk period — possible topics include:
  • the how to’s of film photography, double exposures, light leaks, film soup, posing, and all technical questions;
  • shooting film and having fun with it and taking risks;
  • the how to’s of light – finding light, using light, shooting in full sun and with flare, making light, shooting at night with film;
  • the how to’s of staying inspired and tapping into your creativity;
  • the how to’s of marketing, how to get your name out there and attract the work you want to do;
  • the how to’s of publishing, how to shoot for publication while still shooting for your client and yourself;
  • pricing and making money in other avenues of photography;
  • setting your goals and achieving them in photography and how to shoot for yourself;
  • finding your voice in your photography and expressing it;
  • anything else under the sun.

• sit down and talk about shoot;
• short photography shoot of you by me;
• one hour meetings after the session going over your images from the session and your revised website providing feedback.

My second favorite way is face to face over the internet in an two hour session.  $400

Each two hour session includes:

• portfolio/website review before the session;
• questionnaire before the session to make sure I answer all your questions and customize the session for you;
• homework assigned before session;
• two hours of addressing your topics (see above for possible topics) and making a plan to help you move forward.
