One of the highlights of 2012 for me so far was the Jill LaFleur workshop I attended at Haiku Mill in January.  Jose Villa spoke and lead the shoots.  It was all top knot presenters and information through the whole jam packed two days.  And it was a blast.  I cannot speak highly enough about this workshop.  I learned so much about my business as a photographer — what vendors expect from me and how they view me.    All of which was an eye opener.

We heard from Jose Villa about shooting, from Jill LaFleur about what wedding planners are looking for in photographers to work with and how they choose and recommend photographers,  from Abby at Style Me Pretty about being featured on wedding blogs, from Joel Serrato about wedding films, from Team Hair and Make Up on styling tips, Pacific Wedding on getting published.  I feel so lucky that they chose to have this workshop on my little island so I could attend.

I had one on one portfolio and pricing reviews.  I came away from the workshop a different photographer and with some great new ideas for my business.  Which has helped make this wedding season my busiest by far.

I cannot share the styled portions of our workshop as of yet.  Jose’s work will be appearing in Pacific Weddings this summer.  BUT I can share my behind the scenes images of the amazing location – Haiku Mill – and the people and presenters at the workshop.  jose villa workshop (4) jose villa workshop (11) jose villa workshop (5) jose villa workshop (10) jose villa workshop (12) jose villa workshop (7) jose villa workshop (1) jose villa workshop (16) jose villa workshop (14) jose villa workshop (19) jose villa workshop (18) jose villa workshop (13) jose villa workshop (17) jose villa workshop (15) jose villa workshop (8) jose villa workshop (9) jose villa workshop (2)
