I have four wild kids myself so I am used to chaos and joy and love and the craziness that is family life. My style of family photography captures the love and feeling between your family and tries to distill those feelings into images in the limited time I have with you.
Be prepared to have fun and feel relaxed during our shoot. Wear clothes that you feel comfortable in and move well on the beach. Its the beach.. its summer always here.. and you will most likely end up with sand on your and your feet (or more) in the ocean so dress accordingly.
All plans include an online gallery and free instant digital downloads of full resolution images.
Plan 1 – $595
A 20 minute “mini” session of your family. Fast and furious, I manage to capture the essence of your family quickly and painlessly. See examples here on my blog. The mini session is available on the West side only (lahaina, kaanapali, kapalua) on weekday mornings and works well with couples or small families. For larger or extended families, please see Plan 2 or 3.
Plan 2 – $995
My most popular plan – the one hour family shoot. We can shoot at a location of your choice, beaches are popular, fields, or at my indoor studio, a variety of posed and candid images of your family.
Plan 3 – $1400
A great choice for large groups or lifestyle sessions or where you want alot of candids, the 90 minute photography session. On this session, I can even go with your family on a excursion or activity to capture your family as it is, or head to the beach for some posed group shots and family shots and candids in between. The extra time allows for extra creativity and perfect for extended families with lots of people.
No travel charges (except for Hana and Haleakala) and no per person charges.
My prints are professional printed on high quality professional grade matte papers. Many print sizes and products are available in my online shopping cart. Other products include custom albums and canvas wraps.

Now — what to wear, what to wear, what to wear….
on your Maui family photography session.
The best advice I can tell you is to show up as yourself.
By that I mean, dress as your style. Be you.
You want your photos to be pretty and to be authentic. Not so authentic that they catch you in your yoga pants you are living in, but the real pretty you. On the beach, pastel or bright colors work well. Light cotton clothes, sundresses, t-shirts, shorts are easy to work with. Don’t try to match each other. Just try not to clash. I advise against black or navy – its harsh in the bright sun – and also against the everyone wear white group shot. Be yourselves, just your best self. For large groups, picking one or two colors and having everyone choose their own clothes in those colors usually works well for a nicely coordinated but not matching look. Stripes, polka dots, plaid.. I love them all. The surf shops on Maui have a great variety of fun beach going clothes. Also, don’t be shy… want to wear bathing suits? want to wear your fanciest dress? feel free! If we are shooting on the beach, you will probably get at least your feet wet. Plan for sand and sea.
